Somalia has faced challenges with corruption and financial mismanagement, hindering its progress towards debt relief. However, the Federal Government has implemented reforms and fought corruption in its pursuit of full self-sufficiency, a crucial goal for the government’s existence. The country is now on the path to success, with the government effecting significant changes across all sectors.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has emphasized three key points that must be addressed to achieve this goal.
Firstly, the country must be liberated from the Kharijites Al-Shabaab. The president has called on the Somali people to intensify their fight against this group and completely eradicate it to achieve complete security.
Secondly, the country’s economy must grow. To achieve financial self-sufficiency and debt relief, it is crucial that the people play a significant role in preventing corruption and theft of the country’s property.
Thirdly, the Constitution must be completed. The President has stressed the urgency of this task and has solicited the support of the Somali people.
The Federal Government of Somalia has extensively reformed the country’s financial system, restoring confidence in its economic institutions. This can spur economic growth and help millions of Somalis escape poverty and lead better lives.
