Addis Ababa: Leaders of the African countries are gathering in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to push for historical injustice reparations. The highly anticipated 38th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU) is set to be held from February 15 to 16 under the theme: “Justice for Africans and People of African Descent through Reparations.”
According to Ethiopian News Agency, the reparatory justice for Africans and people of African descent has been gaining momentum worldwide. As a result, the 38th AU Summit is expected to come up with a decisive plan to advance justice for past injustices and foster racial healing.
Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU) have arrived in Addis Ababa, including Angolan President Joo Louren§o. Upon his arrival, the president was welcomed by Ethiopia’s Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh. Additionally, the President of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, and President of Senegal, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, have also arrived in Addis Ababa to participate in the AU Summit.
