Apostle Dr Antwi eulogises mother-in-law, Catherine Armah

Apostle Dr Joseph Kwabena Antwi, a former Chairman of the Ghana National Council of the Great Commission Church International (GCCI) on Wednesday delivered the eulogy for his mother-in-law, Madam Catherine Armah at the Lashibi Funeral Home in Tema.

The service, which was conducted jointly by Venerable Anthony M. Eiwuley and Reverend Father Dr Albert C. Akai-Nettey, both of the Anglican Church, was a celebration of the life of the late Madam Armah aka Oma (a German word for granny).

Madam Armah, who was a retired educationist, passed away on 29th August 2024, at the age of 95.

She was survived by six children, 21 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

The late Madam Armah was the mother of Mrs. Elizabeth Antwi, the wife of Apostle Dr Antwi and Mrs. Mina Sarpong, the wife of the late Apostle Derrick Sarpong, a former Member of the Ghana National Council of the GCCI. Apostle Dr Antwi in his tribute to his late mother-in-law eulogised her for her kind-heartedness.

He said: ‘It’s a good feeling to have an
elderly person you can trust. Such was Oma to me. Oma accepted me as one of her own even though I was an outsider. She was kind-hearted, accepted and appreciated me and extended (the) same to all our children.’

‘I can say Oma believed in me. She made me feel that I wouldn’t fail in life. She trusted my leadership, allowing me to manage my home without interference for over four decades.

‘My Mum was about a month younger than Oma. She’s been gone these 12 years. It’s now time to say ‘Adieu!’ to Oma. I believe you two will meet up there and compare notes. Rest in peace Oma and may the good Lord reward you abundantly for all the sacrifices you made! I believe He will!’
