Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo, founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission, has paid an amount of GHc42,000.00 to settle the bills of 14 female needy patients at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi.
The beneficiary patients were those who have recovered and were officially discharged at the Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O and G) Department but were not able to pay their medical bills.
Mr Kwadwo Safo Junior, a son of Apostle Safo, speaking at the ceremony said the gesture formed part of the 76th birthday anniversary of Apostle Safo, who had dedicated his life all these years to the service of mankind
He said Apostle Safo as part of sharing his day with the less fortunate and marginalized members in society, decided to extend a hand of love to the patients upon realizing that many of them were unable to settle their bills even after several months of hospitalization.
Mr Safo Junior expressed satisfaction in witnessing the release of the patients by the KATH authorities after the payment.
Dr. Samuel Ankomah,
Administrator and Business Manager of O and G Department of KATH, commended Apostle Safo for the benevolent gesture and urged other philanthropists to undertake similar acts of mercy.
He highlighted that all hospital operations, including financial transactions, have been digitized to improve efficiency and client satisfaction.
