The 10th BRICS Youth Summit has created opportunity to discuss common issues of youth and to have active participation on inclusive political, economic and social affairs, Ethiopian Youth Council President Fuad Gena said.
The 10th BRICS Youth Summit was held in Ulyanovsk, Russia, from July 22 to 26 with the focus on education, science, training, technology, innovation, health, sports, youth entrepreneurship, youth social work, and volunteering.
Briefing the media today, the Ethiopian Youth Council President said youth of the respective member countries discussed inclusive political, economic and social issues.
Education and training, entrepreneurship, science, technology and innovation, youth volunteer service, sport and health were among the main agendas of the summit, he added.
On the sidelines of the summit, the youth council president had bilateral discussions with China, India, Brazil, Iran, and UAE youth ministers, it was learned.
According to Fuad, the discussions focused mainly on ways of benefit
ting the Ethiopian youth.
A discussion was also held on the 2025 Africa-China Youth Summit Ethiopia is expected to host, the president revealed.
The BRICS Youth Summit underscored the critical role of youth in shaping the future of BRICS nations as the summit was a resounding success, bringing together young minds to forge a path towards a brighter, more inclusive future.
The insights gained and the connections made during this event will undoubtedly contribute to the ongoing development and cooperation among BRICS nations.
Recall that Ethiopia joined the BRICS, which previously comprised Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, on 1 January, 2024 along with other countries.
