The Deeper Life Campus Fellowship (DLCF), has launched its Annual National Campus Community Congress (ANCCC) in Kumasi, as part of efforts to awaken the knowledge of Jesus Christ among the youth.
The congress would also help ensure great transformation in young intellectuals as well as prepare the youth to be good future leaders and agents of change in the society.
Pastor Francis Fosu, the National Campus Coordinator (NCC), during the launch of the programme, said the event, which would be held under the theme: ‘Awakening the Intellectual Giants for Holistic Excellence’, would commence from October 17 to 20, 2024.
He said the congress would be centred on Salvation from sin, true holiness, healing from diseases, academic excellence, supernatural breakthroughs, among others.
Among the participants expected to attend the congress are university students, lecturers, campus workers, national service personnel, Senior High School (SHS) leavers, sandwich students and others.
Pastor Fosu indicated that most inte
llectuals were sleeping in darkness of sin, defilement, evil, rebellion, corruption and all sorts of sins, and there was the urgent need for the church to help save their souls.
He added that there was the need to raise new giants for Ghana and beyond.
According to him, the Deeper Life Church was started by the Convenor, Dr. William Kumuyi, as a Campus Fellowship in Lagos, Nigeria in 1973.
It has extended to more than 150 countries in the world.
‘The campus is the citadel of all evil and moral decadence, and they must be a target to be won for Christ.’
The Deeper Life Church, he stated, had a vision to see young professionals transformed to the power of Christ in their academic and professional lives.
‘The theme is selected to reflect the deep desire to see young men and women grow in the image of Christ,’ he noted.
Pastor Fosu said the Congress would equip participants with the solid word of God and businesses enterprise knowledge to help them economically.
They would be equipped to be innovative and
resourceful to create their own jobs to meet the challenges in society.
The National Campus Coordinator added that the congress would help the young intellectuals acquire deep insights in fulfilling Gods will in marriage.
‘When the family is destroyed, the whole nation and institutions would be affected,’ he stated.
Professor Joseph Sarkodie-Addo, Regional Campus Coordinator for the Kumasi South Region, said the great awakening goes beyond academic excellence.
He said the young professionals would rise and make lasting impact on the church and the zeal and passion for Christ would be rekindled at the event.
The Congress would instil moral integrity and professional excellence tailored towards making participants complete, Prof Sarkodie -Addo said.
They would also help to solve national crisis such as illegal mining.
He called on the media to put more Christian teachings on their programmes to help transform society.
