Addis Ababa: Ethiopia and China have agreed to strengthen cooperation in the field of cybersecurity. This commitment was made during a meeting between Tigist Hamid, Director General of the Information Network Security Administration (INSA), and Chen Hai, the Chinese Ambassador to Ethiopia.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, Tigist Hamid briefed Ambassador Chen on the cybersecurity products and services provided by the administration, as well as ongoing efforts to enhance the nation’s cybersecurity infrastructure. Highlighting the importance of stronger cooperation, Tigist emphasized the need for continued support and collaboration between the Ethiopian and Chinese governments in various sectors of cybersecurity. She also expressed hope that the partnership would play a crucial role in strengthening Ethiopia’s efforts in its digital infrastructure.
Ambassador Chen Hai recognized the encouraging efforts being made by the administration to ensure cybersecurity and foster Ethiopia’s economic and social develo
pment. He underscored that the two countries should continue their robust collaboration, as demonstrated in other areas, in cybersecurity as well. To this effect, the ambassador assured that he would provide the necessary support.
