Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and China have announced ‘All Weather Strategic Cooperation Partnership’ to elevating of partnership between the two countries.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and President Xi Jinping held a bilateral meeting this morning.
During the occasion, the elevation of partnership between the two countries from Comprehensive and Enduring Strategic Cooperative Partnership to an ‘All Weather Strategic Cooperation Partnership’ level has been announced.
The discussion held between President Xi Jinping and Ethiopian PM Abiy Ahmed was also fruitful, it was indicated.
Premier Abiy twitted that “China continues to be a critical partner for Ethiopia. Gratitude to President Xi Jinping for the warm welcome and the fruitful discussion.”
Both sides issued a joint statement on the Establishment of the All-Weather Strategic Partnership.
Chinese ambassador to Ethiopia, Zhao Zhiyuan said the establishment of the All-Weather Strategic Partnership a milestone for the two countries’ friendship.”
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed is in Beijing, China on an Official State Visit.
