Ethiopia, Gabon Discuss Collaboration to Combat Cross-Border Crime


Addis Ababa: Ethiopia and Gabon have discussed today in Addis Ababa to explore ways to enhance collaboration in preventing cross-border crime.

Ethiopian Federal Police Commissioner General Demelash Gebremichael held discussion with Brigadier General Etienne Madama Mohundi, Gabon’s Secretary General of the National Security Council and Current Chairman of the Intelligence and Security Services of Africa (CISSA).

During the talks, Commissioner General Demelash highlighted the strong partnership between the Ethiopian Federal Police and CISSA.

He expressed Ethiopia’s eagerness to work closely with the Gabonese Police to tackle cross-border crime through improved information exchange, capacity building, and the sharing of best practices.

Brigadier General Mohundi elaborated Gabon’s interest to enhance cooperation with the Ethiopian Federal Police, particularly in the area of capacity building.

He indicated that the Gabonese Police is ready to sign a memorandum of understanding to implement this.

Brigadier
General Mohundi has also visited the facilities of Ethiopian Federal Police which is equipped with stare of the art technologies.
