Ethiopia to Convene Pan African Youth Leadership Summit


Addis Ababa: The Pan African Youth Leadership Summit is set to take place in Addis Ababa from April 3-5, 2025, under the theme “Unlocking the Power of Youth for Prosperous Africa”, as announced by the Ministry of Women and Social Affairs. The summit aims to boost the involvement of African youths in establishing a prosperous and sustainably peaceful Africa, according to Ethiopia’s Minister of Women and Social Affairs, Ergoge Tesfaye.



According to Ethiopian News Agency, Minister Ergoge Tesfaye briefed the media on the preparations underway for the summit, which is being organized in collaboration with the African Union and other relevant bodies. She emphasized the summit’s potential to promote pan-Africanism among the continent’s youth.



The summit will address various topics aimed at empowering African youths, including diplomacy and safeguarding Africa’s interests on the global stage. Minister Tesfaye highlighted Africa’s substantial youth population and stressed that their empowerment in economic and political spheres is crucial for building the desired future for the continent.



Scheduled to be held at the Adwa Victory Memorial Museum, the summit is expected to gather approximately 1,000 participants. In addition to the main event, a start-up exhibition and cultural exchange activities will also be part of the summit, as stated by the minister.
