Ethiopian Muslims Celebrate 1446th Eid al-Fitr with Prayers and Community Gatherings


Addis Ababa: Ethiopian Muslims across the country are celebrating Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan. Muslims in large numbers marched to Addis Ababa Stadium, participating in gatherings, prayers, and celebrations, as well as visiting loved ones and sharing meals.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, the President of the Ethiopian Islamic Affairs Supreme Council, Sheikh Haji Ibrahim Tufa, along with many other religious leaders, members of the diplomatic community, and invited guests, attended the morning prayers. Eid al-Fitr is a religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide to mark the conclusion of the month-long fasting of Ramadan.

Following the holiday, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh, and other high-level government officials conveyed their Eid al-Fitr greetings to the Muslim community on this significant occasion. In his message, Prime Minister Abiy emphasized the importance of Eid al-Fitr in strengthening brotherhood and sisterhood within the community.
