Manama, The Financial Intelligence Directorate at the Interior Ministry has participated in a workshop entitled “Fighting Money laundering in the 21st Century”, hosted in Bahrain by the US Department of Justice.
The event attracted 100 representatives from concerned authorities in the Middle East and North Africa.
The Director of Financial Intelligence asserted the importance of the workshop, which reviews the primary money laundering threats and new challenges, in enhancing the competency of security authorities in fighting such crimes.
She highlighted the efforts of the Interior Ministry and its dedication in fighting money laundering and terrorism financing by developing plans and technology to meet the latest regional and international happenings. She asserted the significance of continuous cooperation by all concerned authorities to eliminate such crimes.
