Addis Ababa: The Executive Secretary of IGAD, Workneh Gebeyehu, held talks with the EU Special Representative for the Horn of Africa, Anett Weber, focusing on regional peace, security, and development. The meeting also included Ambassador Denisa, the EU Ambassador to Djibouti and IGAD.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, the discussions emphasized the European Union’s role as a significant strategic partner to IGAD. Workneh highlighted the importance of multilateralism in tackling challenges faced by the region. He reiterated IGAD’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with the EU for the region’s benefit.
The meeting underscored the shared interest in promoting stability and development across the Horn of Africa, reinforcing the partnership between IGAD and the European Union.
