Investment Promotion Held in Brazil to Promote Ethiopia’s Lucrative Investment Opportunities


Brasilia: An Ethiopian Investment Promotion Forum was held in Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, and the event was graced by State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mesganu Arga. The State Minister highlighted Ethiopia’s priority areas in agro-processing, manufacturing, mining, tourism, and ICT.



According to Ethiopian News Agency, Ambassador Mesganu emphasized the favorable investment environment as a result of the comprehensive economic reforms undertaken in Ethiopia, lucrative opportunities that the country offers, and called on Brazilian companies to invest in Ethiopia. He detailed Ethiopia’s extensive market access due to its geographical location, attractive incentive packages, favorable policies, industrial parks, and improved infrastructures.



Ambassador Mesganu also explained that being a member of BRICS and having a direct daily flight between Addis Ababa and So Paulo provides an ideal opportunity for Brazilian investors to invest in Ethiopia. The investment promotion forum was attended by representatives of Brazilian companies engaged in agro-processing, manufacturing, mining, and tourism, as well as Trade Councils and Industry Federations.



On the occasion, the participants of the forum reaffirmed their desire to engage in investment in Ethiopia and strengthen trade and tourism exchanges between the two countries.
