Addis Ababa: The annual Irrecha festival at Hora Arsedi Lake in Bishoftu, Oromia, has officially commenced, with the presence of Abbaa Gadaas and Haadha Siinqee.
As the sun rises, Abba Gadaas and Haadha siinqee blessed water at Hora Asredi as part of a significant ritual that symbolizes purification and gratitude to Waaqaa (God) for the blessing of past year.
During the occasion, Abba Gadaas and Haadha Siinqee extended their message of peace, reconciliation, and unity among the Oromo community and beyond.
Currently thousands of participants are gathering at Hora Arsedi Lake to celebrate the occasion, singing traditional songs and sharing their hopes and good wishes for the future.
This year’s Irrecha holds special significance, emphasizing themes of cultural renaissance, unity, and resilience within the Oromo community.
