Japan External Trade Organization Pledges to Promote Investment Opportunities in Ethiopia


Tokyo: The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) has pledged to actively support the promotion of investment opportunities and encourage Japanese companies to explore Ethiopia’s untapped potential in various sectors.



According to Ethiopian News Agency, CEO of the Ethiopian Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC), Fisseha Yitagesu, and Executive Vice President of JETRO, Kazuya Nakajo, held discussions in Tokyo, Japan, focusing on the conducive investment climate of Ethiopia. During the meeting, Fisseha emphasized the importance of JETRO’s support in attracting Japanese businesses to Ethiopia, particularly in sectors where their expertise and investments could be highly beneficial.



In response, Nakajo confirmed that JETRO made a commitment to promote Ethiopia’s investment prospects and help facilitate Japanese involvement in the country’s expanding economy. JETRO, a government-related organization, plays a pivotal role in fostering international trade and investment, particularly between Japan and emerging markets like Ethiopia.
