The Japanese Business Federation and twelve companies’ representatives led by Managing Director of the federation, Ichiro Hara discussed with State Minister of Finance, Semereta Sewasew, to explore opportunities to boost trade and investment ties with Ethiopia.
The state minister appreciated the delegation’s intention to participate in development activities in Ethiopia and urged the companies to discover the country’s investment potential.
Moreover, she wished to see more Japanese companies engaging in Ethiopia and encouraged the companies to take this opportunity to explore more investment opportunities in the country.
The delegation expressing their enthusiasm to expand existing and new trade and investment activities in Ethiopia they inquired about the ongoing economic reforms, investment opportunities in various sectors such as mining, agriculture, and energy as well as the macroeconomic performance of Ethiopia.
The meeting was held in the presence of Shibata Hironori, Ambassador Extraordinary and Pl
enipotentiary of Japan to Ethiopia, and senior representatives from the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia.
