Mogadishu, The Minister of Trade and Industry of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Jibril Abdirashid Haji, met with the heads of the Banks in Somalia to discuss on stopping the money they give to the Al-Shabab terrorists because they are being extorted by the insurgents. Basing on the war against terrorism, the Minister is implementing the orders of the President of Somalia and the Prime Minister in relation to the fight against terrorism.
The Minister ordered the businessmen to stop any form of finance that Al-Shabab receives from the banks, and stressed that those who do not comply with the instructions of the Ministry, the Government will take immediate action in accordance with the law and they will be held accountable.
Also, he emphasized that it is never possible and does not accept that the financial resources taken from the businessmen are used to massacred the Somali people, noting that the government is committed to stop any finance that the Al-Shabab terrorists receive.
