Nana Soglo Alloh IV, the Paramount Chief of Likpe Traditional Area, has been elected as the new President of the Oti Regional House of Chiefs.
He garnered eight votes out of the 14 votes cast, defeating the incumbent, Nana Mprah Besemuna III, Krachiwura, who secured six votes.
Nana Obumbo Sewurah Lupowura II, the Akyodemanhene was also elected as the Vice-President of the Regional House of Chiefs.
The election, held at the Oti Regional House of Chiefs premises, Dambai also saw the election of three other Chiefs to represent the Oti Regional House of Chiefs at the National House of Chiefs.
They were; Daasebre Oduro-Guranim I, Dodomanhene, Nana Mprah Besemuna III, Krachiwura and Nana Odamba Kowura II, Ntrubomanhene.
In an exclusive interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Nana Soglo Alloh IV, who was also a former President of the Volta Regional House of Chiefs, said ‘There is nothing new’ about the portfolio, but continuity.
He said he would lead efforts to promote harmony among the various tradition
al authorities and drive regional growth.
The President of the Regional House of Chiefs said he would work closely with all Chiefs in the region to ensure peace, a united front, and rapid development in the region.
Nana Soglo said his vision is to drive change that benefits not only the Chiefs, but the entire region and thus, called on everyone to support him achieve that.
