Pastor appeals to Christians to give towards God’s work

Elder Samuel Doku, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Great Commission Church International (GCCI) has appealed to Christians to give towards the work of God.

‘The God that we serve is not a cheat, he will definitely reward you according to the measure that you use,’ Elder Doku stated in his remarks during a pastoral visit to the GCCI Maranatha Assembly in Tema.

He reiterated that giving towards the work of God was an investment which would bring rewards to Christians.

Elder Doku, who together with Professor Stella Asuming-Brempong, a Member of the Board of Trustees of GCCI Ghana were on a sensitisation visit to GCCI Maranatha Assembly as part of preparation towards the celebration of the Church’s annual Trumah Month, in August 2024.

The GCCI Annual Trumah Month celebration is dedicated to fundraising towards the execution of the church’s projects nationwide.

Elder Doku said that the Tema District of the GCCI was adjudged the best responsive District in terms of fundraising during the 2023
Trumah Month Celebration.

He further commended all the seven assemblies in GCCI Tema District; namely Grace Temple, Maranatha Assembly, Mount Zion Assembly, Refuge Temple, Tema Main Assembly, Tema Newtown Assembly and Prampram Assembly for their contributions towards the execution of the Church’s projects.

He said the GCCI Ghana’s target for the 2024 Trumah Month Celebration was GHS367,000.00

He further appealed to all branches of the GCCI Ghana to fully participate in this year’s Trumah Month Celebration.

Professor Stella Asuming-Brempong, a Member of the GCCI Ghana Board of Trustees, who spoke on the GCCI Ghana 2024 Pensions and the Pensions Week Celebration, reiterated that the week, which was scheduled from 21st to 27th, September, would be on the theme ‘God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love.’

She said the Pensions Fundraising was to support Pastors and workers of the Church, who had gone on retirement; saying ‘This is because they’ve worked, sacrificed their lives in the
service of God. So, this is the way by which we appreciate them’.

She underscored that this was a real opportunity for the Congregation to sow into the lives of men of God, who had sacrificed their lives in the service of God; declaring that ‘when we do that, we attract God to ourselves’.

Prof Asuming-Brempong noted that the pension fund had also been used to support the widows of Pastors of GCCI Ghana.

She urged all GCCI Members to actively participate in both the 2024 Trumah and Pensions Fundraisings, as part of efforts towards building the Church of God.

Rev Iddi Yire, the Resident Pastor of GCCI Maranatha Assembly, on behalf of the congregation, expressed gratitude to Elder Doku and Prof Asuming-Brempong for the timely Pastoral visit.

He assured the GCCI Board of Trustees that the GCCI Maranatha Assembly would actively participate in both the Trumah Month and Pensions Week Celebrations.
