PM Abiy Highlights Aware Neighborhood Providing Dignified Living for Residents


Addis Ababa: Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said Aware neighborhood in Addis Ababa, has been transformed into a neighborhood that provides dignified living for its residents, especially the elderly.

The Premier wrote on X that the transformation of Aware neighborhood is a testament to our commitment to improving the lives of the community.

Abiy added that today marks the fulfillment of our aspiration to upgrade Aware neighborhood.

The Prime Minister further explained that ‘what was once a dilapidated area has now been transformed into a neighborhood that provides dignified living for its residents, especially the elderly.’

This transformation is a testament to our commitment to improving the lives of the community, he said, adding that Aware reflects our principle of building quickly without compromising on quality.

The neighborhood now features a play area for children, green areas for contemplation, comfortable walkways for the elderly, and a clean environment, all designed with the goal of promoting dignif
ied living.

However, the Prime Minister noted that accomplishment in Aware is only the beginning, emphasizing that we should not be fully satisfied with this achievement, as there is much more work to be done.

As a country of millions, the task of uplifting lives across the nation remains urgent and ongoing, he revealed.

Abiy elaborated that to continue making progress, we must strengthen our collaborations with the private sector and our cities to expand this initiative.

As I look ahead to the new Ethiopian year, I am hopeful that despite the many challenges we face, we will overcome them and build a stronger Ethiopia for our children.’
