Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed engaged in discussions with members of the Holy Synod of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church from different regions of the country, Office of the Prime Minister revealed.
The participants brought up a range of topics, including peace and security, the developmental needs of communities, challenges within the church’s administration, and how the clergy can contribute to lasting peace within the country.
‘Continuing our conversations with different segments of society, today I met with members of the Holy Synod of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, who journeyed from across the country to meet with us for these discussions,’ Abiy wrote in his official X account.
Religious elders play a crucial role in our communities, the premier said.
