Addis Ababa: Policy reforms implemented in the diplomatic arena have significantly enhanced Ethiopia’s international standing, Foreign Affairs State Minister Birtukan Birtukan said. The state minister has given briefings about the major activities and successes in the diplomatic sphere.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, Ethiopia has continued pursuing its unwavering commitment to the principle of African solutions for African problems by prioritizing cooperation with neighboring countries and regional partners. In line with the policy of giving priority to neighboring countries, the nation has been actively fostering developmental linkages based on mutual benefits and reciprocity, thereby promoting regional peace and stability.
Notably, Ethiopia has assumed a leading role in realizing shared benefits in areas such as trade and economic ties, electricity and road infrastructure as well as water resources, Birtukan stated. She explained that Ethiopia’s maritime access aspirations are also grounded in the principle of shared development, growth, and benefit.
In general, the policy reforms implemented in the diplomatic realm have substantially elevated Ethiopia’s international standing, the state minister noted. She further emphasized that Ethiopia’s accession to BRICS is a testament to the nation’s remarkable diplomatic endeavor. Finally, Birtukan recalled the successful citizen-centric diplomacy that has prioritized the welfare of citizens, leading to the repatriation of numerous individuals facing challenging circumstances.
