New York, The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, attended the opening of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly on the reduction of poverty and instability, the development of education, youth employment, finding solutions to natural disasters and the people’s rights.
The President and his delegation will present the views of the Federal Government of Somalia on stability and peace, the war against terrorism, dealing with drought and emergency relief and all the challenges faced by the Somali people.
The President and his delegation are conducting a campaign at the United Nations General Assembly on the vision and plan of the Federal Government of Somalia in relation to the fight against poverty and terrorism.
The President will have a meeting with the leaders of the countries participating in this session, the leadership of the international organizations that are participating in the 77th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations, to strengthen the interests and the role of our country with the international community.
The President was accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mr. Abshir Omar Huruse, the Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Ms. Khadija Mohamed Al-Makhsoumi, the Minister of State for the National Presidency, Mr. Abshir Mohamed Ahmed (Bukhari), the Head of the Somali Mission to the United Nations. Mr. Abukar Dahir Osman and Director of the Presidency Mr. Hussein Sheikh Mohamud.
