Mahas, (SONNA) – The President of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Hassan Sheikh Mohamud reached Mahas district of Hiiran region, which is one of the areas of the war against terrorism. The President and his delegation was welcomed by the Vice-President of Hirshabelle State, the Chairman of Hiiran region, members of the Parliament and the local people.
President Hassan Sheikh spoke to the people of the area and the Armed Forces and praised the successes achieved in the fight against terrorism by showing courage and solidarity, and he emphasized the government’s support for the people who decided to liberate the their home town from the Khawarij.
“As long as I am the President, the government of Somalia is determined to eradicate Al-Shabaab from the country, to eliminate any terrorism. Elbur, Haradere, Aden Yabal and other areas will be freed, the President said.”
The President also listened to a report on the needs of the government services of the people living in Mahaas district and the areas under it, promising that the Somali government will deliver government services to the areas that have been freed from terrorism.
