Addis Ababa: Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed underscored that Ethiopia values the IMF’s continued technical and financial support for our economic reform program. The Prime Minister, who has warmly welcomed IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva on the occasion of her visit to Ethiopia, also immensely expressed gratitude for her personal involvement and contributions.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, the Premier conveyed his appreciation through his social media channels. ‘We value the IMF’s continued technical and financial support for our economic reform program and appreciate immensely your personal involvement and contributions,’ he wrote.
Ethiopia’s macroeconomic reform program is supported by one of the IMF’s largest financing programs. The program is based on a Home-Grown Vision and Reform Agenda that clearly articulates the country’s growth and development aspirations, as noted by Prime Minister Abiy.
