Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the Running Mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), will embark on a two-day campaign tour of the Eastern Region on Tuesday, October 8, 2024.
During her tour, she will visit constituencies such as Akuapim South, Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Suhum, New Juaben South, Yilo Krobo, Lower Manya Krobo, and Asuogyaman, where she aims to solicit votes for the party and its flagbearer, Mr. John Dramani Mahama.
A statement issued by Mr. James Agyenim-Boateng, Spokesperson to the Prof. Opoku-Agyemang campaign, said she would end her tour of the Region on Wednesday.
Last week, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang toured the Western North Region, encouraging the electorate to vote in large numbers for former President Mahama and the NDC in the upcoming December 7 general elections to help him reset the country.
She also reaffirmed the party’s commitment to establishing a state-of-the-art fertility centre if they win the upcoming elections.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang also stated that the next NDC government
would build a new 500-bed children’s hospital to enhance healthcare delivery in the country.
She reiterated that an NDC administration would revisit its free sanitary pads policy to provide free pads to female students nationwide, to keep girls in school.
‘When the NDC was in government, we were providing free sanitary pads for these students, but our opponents then politicised it by telling lies to the public. Today the students are not getting it for free again and it is affecting their education.
‘Under the next NDC government, sanitary pads will not be a barrier to the education of any female student in the country,’ she assured.
