REDAN appoints committees to support FG’s housing efforts


The Real Estate Developer’s Association of Nigeria (REDAN) has appointed 24 committees, comprising more than 100 members, to support the Federal Government’s efforts in addressing the housing needs of Nigerians.

The President and Chairman of REDAN, Akintoye Adeoye, made this known at a news conference to outline the organisation’s vision for the future of real estate development in Nigeria.

Adeoye said that the committees would assist the REDAN 7th Council in realising its vision, which focuses on key areas like advocacy, transparency, innovation, professionalism, sustainability, and membership.

‘To further support the government’s efforts in addressing the housing needs of Nigerians, and in line with our mission, I am pleased to officially announce the appointment of 24 committees, comprising over 100 dedicated members of the association,’ Adeoye said.

He explained that the newly formed committees would cover a wide range of responsibilities, from engaging with government agencies and legislative bodies
to promote alternative building materials and sustainable practices.

‘We deeply appreciate the efforts of the men and women who have volunteered their time, resources, and expertise to serve on these committees.

‘Their contributions will not only shape the future of our association but also play a crucial role in repositioning Nigeria’s housing sector,’ Adeoye said.

He commended the outstanding leadership of the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Dangiwa, adding that his significant achievements within just one year have greatly advanced the Renewed Hope agenda.

‘We recognise the notable progress in increasing the availability of affordable and decent housing for Nigerians.

‘In the face of numerous challenges, including regulatory barriers, financing difficulties, and land acquisition issues, REDAN is committed to advocating on behalf of developers.

‘This reinforces our dedication to supporting our members and e
ffectively addressing industry-wide challenges,’ Adeoye said.

He added that REDAN was committed to embracing innovation through the integration of technology in real estate, promoting estate solutions, sustainable practices, green initiatives, and digital platforms that streamline property transactions.

Adeoye said REDAN planned to introduce enhanced certification processes to ensure that all members adhere to the highest standards in the industry.

‘To elevate industry standards, REDAN is introducing enhanced certification processes for our members.

‘This is to ensure that all members adhere to the highest professional standards, thereby enhancing the credibility and reputation of the sector,’ he said.

Adeoye expressed optimism about the future of the real estate sector in Nigeria.

‘As we embark on this new chapter, I am confident that our collective efforts will lead to significant achievements that will benefit our members, the real estate industry, and the nation as a whole.’
