Oslo, The Special Envoy of the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia for Drought Relief, Mr. Abdirahman Abdishakur Warsame, held a meeting with the head of the Norwegian refugee agency in Oslo.
The Secretary General of the Norwegian Refugee Council, Jan Egeland, and the envoy discussed the drought situation in Somalia, bringing together what happened to both sides after their meeting in Mogadishu in June.
The meeting which was also attended by members of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ambassador asked the Agency and the Government of Norway to increase the economic assistance to Somalia and also to participate in the relief of the issue of drought and the development of Somalia.
Jan Egeland, who previously held the positions of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway and the head of humanitarian aid at the United Nations, has promised that the government will make an effort to help and provide relief for the drought in Somalia.
