The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) has announced that it will not participate in the October 10 strike action declared by Organised Labour.
It has, therefore, instructed its members to ‘remain at post and continue providing safe and quality health services to the people of Ghana.’
This decision was conveyed in a communiqué issued after an emergency meeting of the GRNMA Council on October 8, 2024. The communiqué was jointly signed by Madam Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo, GRNMA President, and Dr. David Tenkorang-Twum, GRNMA General Secretary.
‘The GRNMA stands in solidarity with member Trade Unions and Associations under Organised Labour in the fight against illegal mining (galamsey) and will continue to advocate for stronger national interventions to address the menace,’ the communiqué stated.
