The Sunyani Office of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has launched a Customer Service Week (CSW) to sensitise drivers and motorists about new innovative services of the Authority.
The authority has also rolled out several activities including free health screenings, raffle draw, question and answer sessions, food party, and client’s feedback for the celebration of the week on the theme ‘above and beyond’.
Various vehicle insurance companies are also undertaking promotional sales for both commercial and private vehicles.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Sunyani, Mr George Okyere, the Bono Regional Manager of the DVLA explained the Authority was also collaborating with the Regional Office of the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) to intensify road safety education.
He therefore called on drivers and motorists to capitalise on the celebration, participate, engage and share their grievances with personnel of the authority to help improve their services.
‘The CSW serves as a
n opportunity to express gratitude for the longstanding partnership with customers and clients and to inform them about the enhanced innovations of the Authority to improve service delivery’, Mr Okyere explained.
That would not only improve service delivery, but ultimately contribute to increased revenue mobilisation of the Authority.
Mr Okyere advised drivers and vehicle owners to renew their licenses and roadworthy certificates on time to avoid paying further charges.
‘The DVLA has undergone significant transformations over the years and has now transitioned to digital and biometric platforms’, he said, saying the shift had helped address the delays that were associated with their work previously.
?Mr Wisdom Amanuvor, a tricycle rider in an interview with the GNA commended the Authority, saying the CSW celebration had made him and other colleagues to understand the work of the DVLA.
